KARACHI: The leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-P Faisal Subzwari has expressed hope that former federal minister Faisal Vawda, who contested the election as an independent, will be elected as a senator.
According to the details, talking to media representatives in Karachi, said that the youth of Karachi were killed for a few rupees and the Sindh Interior Minister seems to be making strange statements.
During the conversation, Faisal Subzwari said that 50 citizens were killed for resisting street crime and robbery in Karachi during the last 3 months. “Earlier, we were blamed for target killing, but the Sindh Interior Minister is saying that the crimes are not as much as reported,” he said.
Subzwari said that looting was happening in Karachi before, and now killings are also happening, if there were so many killings elsewhere, people would have demanded an operation. “So there should be another operation in Karachi,” he added.
Faisal said that MQM has full votes for one Senate seat. “Vawda is contesting as an independent candidate, MQM and PPP members will vote and hopefully he will be elected,” he said.
Why did the statement in favour of Faisal Vawda?
Initially, it was estimated that Faisal Vawda, who was elected as federal minister after defecting from Tehreek-e-Insaaf, would contest the election on the MQM ticket in 2018, but this is not the case.
However, it has become clear that Faisal Vawda is being supported by MQM, the People’s Party, and the Muslim League (N), and after Faisal Vawda’s statement came out, the chances of Vawda being elected senator have become bright.
