Rachel Brosnahan is diligently immersing herself in the role of Lois Lane for the upcoming film Superman: Legacy by engaging in what she humorously refers to as “stalking” journalists.
During an interview on the Emmy Awards red carpet with Entertainment Weekly, Brosnahan shared insights into her preparation process for the role in director James Gunn’s highly anticipated movie.
In her own words, Brosnahan mentioned, “I’m stalking my journalist friends right now. I’m just trying to understand a little bit more deeply kind of how that mindset works.” She elaborated on her inspiration for taking on the iconic role, citing her admiration for Margot Kidder, who portrayed Lois Lane alongside Christopher Reeve in the original Superman films.
Brosnahan expressed the importance of Kidder’s portrayal, noting the rarity of ambitious female characters in such universes.
During the red carpet event, Brosnahan shared a delightful reunion with her Superman: Legacy co-star Anthony Carrigan, set to play Metamorpho in the film. Reflecting on the encounter, she expressed joy at reconnecting with Carrigan, emphasizing their longstanding friendship.
Towards the end, the update on the film’s progress was discussed, with DC Studios boss James Gunn providing assurance that Superman: Legacy is on track for its original release date of July 11, 2025. Gunn commended the resilience of the crew, highlighting their dedication during industry strikes, and praised the exceptional character and set designs that have been created for the movie.
