KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) regarding the electoral alliance has said that the party had discussed seat adjustment with the Muslim League (N) and there was a consensus between the two parties.
According to the details, the leaders of PML-N and MQM (Pakistan) said while talking to the media that the two parties would fight the general elections together on February 8, however, both parties limited this electoral alliance to seat adjustment.
Earlier, the alliance of PML-N and MQM was considered an important step towards countering PPP in Sindh, which came after PPP’s confrontation with PML-N at the centre. PPP leaders accused Nawaz Sharif of seeking blessings from the establishment.
The PML-N and MQM delegations met on Tuesday. Former Minister of Railways Khawaja Saad Rafiq said that it has been decided between us that we will participate in the February 8 elections, but at night Aminul Haq of MQM said that there was no electoral alliance between the two parties.
Former federal minister Aminul Haq said, “We will contest the election on our own election symbol on February 8 and seat adjustment will certainly be done where necessary.”
