Lahore: Laiba Nasir led her side Stars to the first victory of the Women’s U19 T20 Tournament. Invincibles, only managing to score 107 in the first innings, were unable to defend the score. Zaib-un-Nisa-led Conquerors also chased, with much ease, a target of 83 in their first game.
Invincibles vs Stars:
Hania Ahmer won the toss and chose to bat first. Laiba Nasir-led Stars were able to constrict the Invincibles to 107.
Haleema Dua was the highest scorer for the Invincibles. For the Stars, Mubeen Ahmed got a wicket off her bowling, whereas the rest of the wickets came from runouts.
Laiba played a captain’s knock, scored unbeaten 32 runs with the help of five fours in the innings and leading her side to victory with 4.3 overs to spare.
Conquerors vs Challengers:
Zaib-un-Nisa won the toss and invited the Challengers to bat first. The Mahnoor Aftab-led side was bowled out for 82 runs. Memoona Khalid and Dina Rizvi had two wickets each.
The conquerors easily chased the target in 16 overs. The openers contributed with a 31-run stand, which was followed by a 29-run stand after the first wicket fell.
Memoona, who got two wickets earlier, contributed with 22 runs and led her side over the rope.
