Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz staged a massive protest rally against skyrocketing inflation and exorbitant electricity prices in Karachi. The protest saw a significant participation of workers, trade unions, and citizens.
Demonstrators held banners and placards in their hands, protesting against the rising electricity prices and inflation. They chanted slogans against the price hikes. During the event, protesters continued to voice strong chants against the government.
The protesters voiced their refusal to accept the hefty electricity bills burdened with heavy taxes. They criticized the rulers for making life unbearable for the public to support their own luxuries. Small businesses are struggling, households can’t afford cooking gas; how can they pay such high bills?
Religious, political, social, and trade leaders addressed the crowd, expressing solidarity with the protest. Leaders of the Central Muslim League in Karachi, including Ahmed Nadim Awan, Engineer Nauman, Iftikhar, Arslan, Mobashir Shahid, Owais, and Osman, also delivered speeches.
The speakers highlighted that the entire nation has united against the unjust taxes in electricity bills. People are protesting vehemently against the unjustified increases in electricity prices, which are driving the poor and middle class towards poverty and even suicide.
