An earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale jolted Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and adjacent areas on Saturday night.
According to National Seismic Monitoring Centre, Islamabad, the epicenter of the earthquake was located in the Hindukush Region Afghanistan at the depth of 196 kilometres.
Tremors were also felt in Lahore, Islamabad, Charsadda, Chitral, Malakand, Chiniot and other areas where people came out of their houses and offices out of fear.
People came out of their homes in panic and started reciting verses from the Holy Quran. No loss of life and property was reported from any part of Quetta due to earthquake.
