Try delicious pakoras this rainy season

The rainy season has finally arrived as monsoon clouds have entered the city of Karachi. There have been intermittent to heavy showers in various parts of the city, giving a much-needed respite from the scorching weather.

Eating hot tasty pakoras in such a wonderful weather enhances our experience. Karachites prefer eating samosa and pakoras in the rainy season. 

One such place selling delicious pakoras is the Bombay Bakery located in Shah Faisal Colony of Karachi. The bakery workers said people enjoy are fond of having pakoras of them.

The bakery has around five to six different varieties of pakoras – aloo (potato), mirchi (chili), payaz (onion), palak (spinach) and besan (gram flour). The popular of stuffed chilies are also very popular and people gather in long queues.

They bakery in-charge said they use banaspati ghee for making pakoras. “We are providing people with good quality pakoras with lower prices because nothing is more important to people than their lives. So people pay easily,” he said.

The Pakoras are available at Bombay Bakery in Faisal Colony at Rs 80 per pau (approx. 250 grams) i.e. Rs 320 per kg,

Another recommended place selling scrumptious pakoras is Azmat Ali’s “Taza Pakodas” located in Shahid Bagh area of Karachi.

The eatery has been selling pakoras since 1992. We use best quality of dhanya (coriander), besan and zeera for making pakoras. Fresh oil is brought every day to be used for making pakoras.

The in-charge said besan is used in lower quantity while the pakoras have more potatoes and onions. He said they focus on the quality besan for their pakoras. This outlet sells only potato and onion pakoras.
