PESHAWAR: At least four people were killed and more than a dozen injured during the protest in Peshawar on Wednesday following the arrest of the former Prime Minister ImranKhan, journalist Iftikhar Firdous of The Khorasan Diary reported.
He said the bodies and injured were being brought to the Lady Reading Hospital, adding that many of them had not yet been identified.
Firdous also said that the road situation in the city was getting worse.
Meanwhile, following Punjab’s lead, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has also written a letter to the federal government seeking the requisition of armed forces to maintain law-and-order in the province.
In a notification, the KP government requested that Armed Forced be deployed in the province in view of the “prevailing law and order situation, the safety of life and property of citizens as well as security of government installations”.
Earlier, the interior ministry approved the deployment of armed troops in Punjab.
