LAHORE: PTI leader Ali Amin Gandapur was granted bail by an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Lahore on Monday. The ATC granted bail against a surety bond of Rs50,000 in a case related to threats to the police. The verdict was pronounced by ATC Judge Ijaz Ahmad Butar after Gandapur had filed for post-arrest bail.
It may be recalled here that the Race Course Police had registered a case against the PTI leader from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The former federal minister Ali Amin Gandapur was arrested by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police outside the Dera Ismail Khan (DI Khan) bench of the Peshawar High Court (PHC) on April 7. He had taken refuge in the premises of the High Court to avoid arrest.
on April 20, the ATC Lahore had denied Racecourse police physical remand of PTI leader Ali Amin Gandapur, however, allowed his custody to Sindh police on a transit remand.
The Racecourse police produced Gandapur before the court and sought his physical remand for interrogation in a case of attacks on police.
The application said a case had been registered against the PTI leader on charges of inciting people against the state institutions. It said custody of the suspect was required for investigation of the case.
