LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has accused the handlers of the present government of backing the current regime and inciting fights to avoid elections.
In a video address to PTI workers last evening, Khan alleged that the handlers have lined up behind the government and are inciting fights to avoid elections.
The PTI Chairman expressed his disappointment when the court opened at midnight on April 9, 2022, saying he had never criticized the courts despite this. However, he emphasized that a country without justice is not free.
He urged the 15 judges of the Supreme Court to unite for the sake of Pakistan, warning that if the Constitution is abolished, it would lead to the law of the jungle. Khan also warned that the country is on the verge of devastation.
Imran Khan further criticized the rulers, saying that they had forgotten that this is the age of social media, and lies were caught within half an hour. He also slammed opposition parties such as the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi for previously stating that delaying elections by even a day was unacceptable. Despite 90 days passing, no election has been held, and 12 parties are now claiming that elections will not be held.
Taking a jibe at the opposition, Khan said that the ruling party had previously urged him to dissolve assemblies if elections were required, which he did, but now they are making excuses. He added that legal experts have advised that internal elections should be held within 90 days of the dissolution of the assemblies.
