LAHORE: The captain of the Pakistan Cricket Team, Babar Azam, paid a visit to the office of Wahab Riaz, the Sports Advisor to the Chief Minister (CM) of Punjab, in Lahore on Thursday.
During the meeting, Babar Azam extended his best wishes to Wahab Riaz for his tenure and for the promotion of sports in the region. Azam Siddique, Babar Azam’s father, was also present at the meeting after being invited by Wahab Riaz to attend the Ramazan Sports series.
Both Babar Azam and Wahab Riaz pledged to work together for the betterment and promotion of sports in Pakistan. They expressed hope that Pakistan’s glory days in other sports would soon return.
During their meeting, both sides discussed the Punjab Hockey Championship, which will be sponsored by Park View City. Wahab Riaz expressed his gratitude to Babar Azam for his support and hoped that he would visit during the Ramazan sports series.
In response, Babar Azam assured Wahab Riaz of his cooperation with the interim government and emphasized on the importance of promoting talent in Punjab and Pakistan. He expressed firm belief that this would contribute to the betterment of the economy as well.
