According to multiple media reports, the JKT group, headed by Jahangir Train, a former close aide of Imran Khan, met the other day to discuss ways to develop a strategy to actively participate in politics.
Media reports also claimed that during the meeting, the group proposed creating a new political identity with name “Tehreek Insaaf Nazariati”. They also discussed contacting more former PTI lawmakers and members, and were attended by individuals such as Raja Riaz, Aun Chaudhary, Nauman Langriyal, Ishaq Khakwani, Ajmal Cheema, and several new faces from the PTI.
MM News has learnt that the meeting came with days after Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani met with Jahangir Tarin in which the future political course of action was reportedly discussed.
It is interesting to note that the ruling party PMLN has refused to give political space to Jahangir Tarin led group because of humiliating defeat in Punjab by elections, held in July last year.
However, ruling coalition partner PPP has been making efforts to attract electables from south Punjab for a while now and it has not stopped its attempts. The party views these electables as a valuable asset for the upcoming elections.
