KARACHI: The Deputy Director of the Private Schools System and the Federal of Private Schools Vice President, Syed Khalid Raza was killed by unknown gunmen in what seems to be yet another incident of target killing.
According to reports gathered from multiple sources, the incident took place in Gulistan-e-Jauhar when two armed men riding a motorcycle opened fire on Syed Khalid Raza, killing him on the spot, and fled from the scene.
Eye witnesses told local media that suspects were seen in the area multiple times, and that the police were informed about their recce type presence they did not respond to the complaints.
Police confirmed that the attackers did not take belongings after killing Raza. They said that Raza is an office-bearer of a private schools’ association. Moreover, he was the vice chairman of the Federation of Private Schools.
Meanwhile, Syed Tariq Shah Chairman APSMA in a statement on killing of Syed Khalid Raza Deputy Director Dar e Arqam Schools said schools to remain open on Monday, as per regular schedule, and that Fatiha would be recited during school assembly session.

Following the incident, Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori contacted the Additional Inspector General (AIG) Karachi and sought a report on Raza’s killing. He ordered the AIG Karachi to investigate the incident in all aspects.
As per media reports, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah too took notice of the incident and sought a report from Additional IG Karachi in this regard, while expressing sorrow over the murder.
