LONDON: Former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif on Monday underwent check-up at London Bridge Hospital.
The former prime minister’s son Hussain Nawaz, his personal doctor Dr Adnan and Leader of Opposition in National Assembly and PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif accompanied him.
Talking to media in London on Monday, Shehbaz Sharif said that they were waiting for the reports of medical examinations, adding that the doctors would reach decision after going through the elder Sharif’s reports.
To a question, Shehbaz said that he never responds to Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed’s statement and only Allah almighty can show him the right path.
Meanwhile, Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Information Firdous Ashiq Awan said that Nawaz Sharif’s demeanour in London stands in direct contrast to the picture portrayed back home regarding his health.
While talking to media in Islamabad, she said that Sharif’s face has become lively in London, urging the PML-N leader to give the nation an update regarding his ailments soon.
She wondered why there have not been any updates on the former prime minister’s health since he left Pakistan early last week.
Commenting on the court’s decision to withdraw the contempt notice against her, she thanked she was relieved that she was absolved by the courts.
Awan further said that Prime Minister Imran Khan “is committed to resolving the problems of the judiciary”.
She said all the opposition’s plans have failed completely, adding that their “extremist approach has been rejected by the people”.
The SAPM urged the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to take up the issue of the desecration of the Holy Quran in Norway as well as the plight of the Kashmiri Muslims.
