ISLAMABAD: Renowned scholar Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani has issued a Fatwa, rejecting any sort of ‘Jihad’ agaisnt the state of Pakistan.
Virtually addressing the Paigham-e-Pakistan National Conference on ‘Countering Violent Extremism, Radicalism and Hate Speech, held in Islamabad, he categorically said that any armed activity against the state of Pakistan is a rebellion and haram according to Islamic law.
He said “armed hostile activities against the state in the name of ‘jihad’ are ‘haram’ and thus illegal, illegitimate and undesirable revolt.”

Mufti Taqi Usmani said the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, who are fighting against Pakistan Army and are involved in anti-state activities, are rebels.
The decree was also unanimously adopted by Ulema and Mashaykh of all schools of thought present in the conference.
Mufti Taqi Usmani said fighting against national security agencies and carrying out anti-state activities come under mutiny and it has nothing to do with Jihad.
