In a statement given the other day, he said the audio tapes were being released as part of a smear campaign aimed at blackmailing him and malign his image.
Imran Khan said conspiracy to oust him as prime minister (PM) was hatched inside the country with Hussain Haqqani conspiring against him. “What could be more treacherous than installing thieves on powerful positions and quashing cases against them”, he added.
He said “decision to hold negotiations with TTP was taken in a meeting of National Security Committee (NSC), and terrorism had been rooted out when PTI was in power, however, TTP staged comeback in Malakand as soon as our government was overthrown.” He warned that “to become part of ‘war on terror’ under US agenda would be counter-productive.”
