MIRPUS: The third phase of local body elections has started in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and a large number of voters came out of their homes for polling in various cities.
According to the details, the third and last phase of the local body elections in Azad Kashmir started today. The polling process has started in 3 districts of Mirpur Division, Bhimbar, Mirpur, and Kotli.
The polling started from 8 am today and will continue till 5 pm. A total of more than 12 lakh voters, including women and men, will exercise their right to vote.

A control room has been set up in the commissioner’s office to monitor the polling of the third and final phase of local body elections. Elections are being held on 4,257 seats in 3 districts of the Mirpur Division.
Out of the total 2,188 polling stations established for polling, 874 have been declared as the most sensitive where strict security arrangements have been made to control the law and order situation.
1,024 candidates of different political parties in Mirpur district, 1,102 in Bhimbar, and 2,131 candidates in Kotli contest for more than 4,000 seats. There will be a thorny competition among various candidates.
