Officials said during her stay in Kabul, Hina Rabbani Khar would hold political consultations with Foreign Minister of Interim Afghan Government Amir Khan Mutaqqi.
This is the first visit by a senior Pakistani official since the change of government in April and is seen as significant given the fact that the delegation is headed by a woman minister.
Earlier, Pakistan’s Foreign Office said Hina Rabbani Khar would discuss bilateral relations, including cooperation in the areas of education, trade and investment, regional connectivity, people-to-people contacts and matters related to regional security.
The Minister of State will also reaffirm Pakistan’s continued commitment and support for all efforts aimed at strengthening peace and enhancing prosperity in Afghanistan.
