KARACHI: 18 alleged police encounters took place in Karachi last week, in which 3 bandits were killed in the exchange of fire while 29 others including 24 injured bandits were arrested.
26 different types of illegal weapons, 16 motorcycles and 18 mobile phones were recovered from the arrested accused while the recovered weapons have been sent for forensics.
Police arrested a total of 1069 suspects during raids in Karachi’s East, West and South Zones last week.
During the ongoing campaign against drug peddlers by the police, 95 kg 604 grams of hashish, 01 kg 544 grams of heroin and 02 kg 592 grams of ice worth lakhs of rupees were recovered from different areas.

More than 136 different types of illegal weapons and ammunition used in looting from citizens and other incidents were taken into custody from the arrested street criminals.
In Manghopir, police arrested the accused who killed the government officer of the Water Board with the help of CCTV footage.
Karachi Police took into custody a total of 77 stolen motorcycles and 03 vehicles while carrying out operations in different areas. Actions taken by the Karachi Police to eradicate crime, restore law and order and protect the public will continue.
