Long march: Imran calls on supporters to reach Rawalpindi on Nov 26

MM News Staff by MM News Staff
November 19, 2022

Former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has called on his party workers and supporters to reach Rawalpindi on November 26, saying the nation cannot be neutral at the current juncture.

Addressing the participants of the long march via video link on Saturday, the former premier said asked the party workers and supporters to reach Rawalpindi on November between 1-2pm. “I will meet you there,” he added.

“ارشد شریف راہ حق پر کھڑا تھا، اس کی والدہ کو سب پتہ ہے کون دھمکیاں دے رہا تھا۔ سب کو پتہ ہے طاقتور کے سامنے کمزور کھڑا ہوتا ہے تو انصاف نہیں ملتا” عمران خان #پنڈی_کی_کال_عوام_تیار pic.twitter.com/MkxpmINvYV

The PTI chief said that he would give the next plan of action for the party’s long march after his supporters reach Rawalpindi on November 26.

“You have to fully try to reach between 1-2pm. I will myself address and give the next plan of action,” he said, adding that the PTI’s movement would not stop.

To the “powerful quarters”, he said that no matter which segment of society was asked, they would say there was no other solution to the country’s issues than fresh and fair elections.

“We can never achieve real freedom while sitting at home,” the former prime minister said, urging the supporters to come out and forced the government to call snap polls.

PTI Chairman said that the nation cannot afford to remain neutral at the current juncture.

“If you remain neutral today then your children and coming generations will regret that you sat in homes when you should have struggled against injustice.”

“I have no need to risk my life and set out, but it was in my mind from childhood that death is better than slavery. This is slavery what is happening. I as an ex-prime minister could not register my FIR … so think what rights you as the nation have.” Imran said.

He also criticized the incumbent government over ‘failed economic policies’, saying that the present rules do not have any plan or road map to lift the country out of crises.

“What Pakistan has achieved by regime change in the last seven months,” he asked, adding: “Why they were them on the country.”

The former premier reiterated that the establishment could either take the country in a positive or negative direction.

He said that he had a question for the establishment, to which he still had not received an answer. “What was it that in 3.5 years these people (Sharif and Zardari families) were bathed in that they suddenly became acceptable for the establishment and were placed over us?” Imran questioned.

The former premier also expressed disappointment over the journalist community for its alleged lack of action on the killing of senior journalist Arshad Sharif.

“If you don’t take a stand on this and … you should have taken a stand on how cases were registered against him and threats that were given to him,” Imran said, adding that Sharif’s family knew the identity of those who were threatening the slain journalist.

Imran Khan alleged that the PML-N and “Dirty Harry” were behind the Geo News expose story against him.

“They made the story on me about what I did with the watch,” he said, adding that he had to “sadly” say he would not get justice from local courts and that is why he would be approaching international courts.

Moreover, the former premier reiterated that his life is still in danger after the Wazirabad assassination attempt.

Prior to his rallies throughout the previous six months, he claimed to have received letters alerting him to the threat on his life. Imran said, “I knew they were planning to kill me, but I still went on.”

He claimed that the people who had attempted the prior attack against him were still in the area, posing a continuing threat to his life.
