The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is all set to resume its Haqiqi Azadi March today from Wazirabad, from where it was halted after gun attack on the convoy, leaving one dead and injuring other PTI leaders including the former prime minister.
Khan in his press conference from the hospital announced to resume the long march on Tuesday, then it was delayed to Wednesday and later Thursday was fixed for the resumption of the march.
There are rumors in Islamabad that Khan is negotiating with the establishment that’s why he delayed his long march for two days against the earlier schedule but nothing is confirmed yet.
Here the question arises that the long march is being resumed from today without PTI chief Imran Khan as he has been advised to take complete rest of two weeks following the gun attack, which is being termed as an assassination attempt on him. How the people will respond to the call? what about the security of the participants of the rally?
Khan has been leading long marches of the party and on his call masses came out in large numbers in the earlier protest but how will be the situation now when the former prime minister will not be leading the march and according to Asad Umar there will be two long marches.
Khan sahab has announced he will be joining the long march convoy and will lead it from Rawalpindi after two weeks. Khan’s participation in the long march will surely boost the morale of the people but will the former premier will stick to his commitment? Or he will take another U-Turn and prefer to stay at home and continue addressing the convoy via video link.
PTI has been protesting against the federal government and three persons but it has failed to get the FIR registered against the three persons, Imran Khan wishes to be nominated. The situation clearly raises questions on the role of the Punjab CM, who is running the province with the support of PTI.
There is no doubt that Khan sahab has built a narrative through his campaign under the banner of Haqiqi Azadi but the situation will be clear today in terms of the masses’ response when it will resume and that would a biggest test of the PTI leaders in physical absence of Imran Khan.
