KARACHI/MULTAN/FAISALABAD: As people started to caste their votes in by-elections being held for 8 seats of the National Assembly and 3 of the Punjab Assembly, a number of code of conduct violations as well as heated arguments between rival political parties have been reported across the country.
Reports gathered by MM News from multiple sources revealed that a number of people, after casting their votes, posted their photos of stamped ballot paper on social media, leading to questions as to how cell phone was allowed inside the polling stations despite a clear instructions by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) against the same.

Some posting for the first time, took picture of their stamped vote to record it as a history.

Reports received from Faisalabad revealed that in the constituency of NA-108 Faisalabad, voters affiliated with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz were allegedly allowed to take cell phones with them in the polling booth. One of the voters after giving voters in favor of PML-N shared the picture of the ballot paper on social media as well.

In Multan, a voter in Multan after casting a vote in favor of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) candidate clicked the picture of the ballot paper and shared it on social media.

Also in Multan, a PTI leader Hamid Janjua was reported to have been arrested for making video from his cell phone at a female polling station. Besides this, a person was arrested for invite female to vote for PPP and making their videos.
The polling which started at 8:00 am will continue till 5:00 pm.
It is pertinent to mention here that the federal government wanted to delay the by-elections for at least the next 90 days as it said that security personnel were busy in flood relief works, while there were also reports of terrorist activities during the polls.
