ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister and Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan has vowed to surprise the present government with his strategy for Long March.
Talking to ECP bat reporters here on Thursday, he said his party was making full preparations and the nation would witness an ocean of the masses on the day of Long March. Recalling the events that took place on May 25 this year, he said his party had no idea as to what sort of tactics the government would employ to disperse the crowd, adding that the day of Long March wasn’t too far.
Imran Khan termed the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) as a dishonest person, saying he never met him [CEC} nor he wanted to see him ever. He said if the CEC had any shame and dignity, he would have resigned after the recent audio leaks. He termed the CEC as a tool of elements busy in political engineering. “I fear that when I appear before CEC, I may not resort to something which merits jail,” said Imran Khan.
He said recent audio leaks proved nexus between the Election Commission and PMLN, adding that our party would win byelections no matter how much rigging took place.
Responding to a question, he said his party would not return to parliament as his stance about the opposition being thieves remained unchanged since the very first day.
Imran Khan thanked the present government for reviving the Cypher issue and said the message contained clear instructions to remove my government. He asked how the beneficiaries of the Cypher [instructions] could investigate into the matter?
