Maroon 5 front man Adam Levine has denied cheating on his supermodel wife, Behati Prinsloo, but acknowledged he flirted here and there following an allegation that he had an affair with an Instagram model.
“A lot is being said about me right now and I want to clear the air,” the former Voice coach wrote in a statement on his Instagram on Tuesday.
“I used poor judgment in speaking with anyone other than my wife in ANY kind of flirtatious manner,” Levine wrote. “I did not have an affair, nevertheless, I crossed the line during a regrettable period in my life.”
Levine broke his silence after Instagram model Sumner Stroh went viral with a Tik Tok video in which she said she dated Levine for about a year and shared Instagram messages she said were from him and appeared to be linked to his verified account.
Levine, she said, reached out to her after things had ended with a request.
Sumner Stroh, an Instagram model, claimed in a widely circulated TikTok on Monday that she had a year-long relationship with Adam Levine. She said their last communication was when the singer messaged her on Instagram to beg permission to call his newborn child with Behati Prinsloo Sumner.
Stroh said in the video that Levine “totally manipulated” her and made her “feel exploited,” and that she decided to come forward because a friend she had confided in was attempting to sell the tale to tabloids.
Levine and Stroh received harsh criticism online for their respective actions: Stroh was accused of having an affair with Levine, who has been in a well-publicized relationship with Prinsloo for about ten years, while Levine was criticized for allegedly cheating on his wife and trying to name his unborn child after his ostensible mistress.
Stroh released a second video on Monday emphasizing her regret for the relationship. She claimed she started dating Levine believing their marriage was “over” but that they were keeping it under wraps to prevent bad publicity. She continued by saying she ended the relationship as soon as she realized “that wasn’t the case.”
Moreover, the former “Bachelor” Nick Viall slammed Adam Levine on Tuesday after he was accused of cheating on wife Behati Prinsloo, 34, with Instagram model Sumner Stroh.
“Alright, some quick thoughts. One, and the most important one, is that the only victim here is Behati, Adam’s wife. Like she doesn’t deserve this,” Viall said in a TikTok video as a response to Stroh’s original one.
It is worth mentioning that Stroh’s original video has been shared 192,900 times on TikTok. The video has also earned about 1.2 million likes.
