RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Army Public Relations (ISPR) has confirmed that Lieutenant Colonel Laiq Baig Mirza has been martyred by terrorists.
According to details, Lt. Col. Laiq Baig Mirza was abducted by terrorists between the night of July 12 and 13 near Ziarat. Lieutenant Colonel Laiq Baig Mirza was serving in DHA Quetta.
According to ISPR, upon receiving the information, the Army Quick Reaction Forces immediately pursued the terrorists and SSG troops and helicopters were used in the search operation.
Security forces traced the terrorists’ hideout in the Mangi Dam area, where two terrorists were killed in an exchange of fire. Armed terrorists also abducted Col. Laiq Baig Mirza’s cousin Omar Javed, who was taken away by the terrorists.
ISPR said that the security forces are committed to rescuing the hostages and arresting the culprits, and security forces are also committed to thwarting the efforts to sabotage the peace, stability, and development of Balochistan.
