The recently released song of late singer Sidhu Moose Wala has been removed by YouTube.
According to media reports, the song titled SYL, referring to the Sutlej-Yamuna Link canal was released earlier this week. The song was written, sung, and composed by Sidhu and was recorded weeks before his death. According to the report, YouTube removed the song from the Indian region following a legal complaint from the Indian government. Since its launch, Sidhu’s song garnered over 27 million views and got 3.3 million likes on YouTube.
A massive controversy erupted just two days after Sidhu Moose Wala’s last song ‘SYL’ released. YouTube removed the song after the Centre filed a legal complaint about the song. The song is based on the Sutlej-Yamuna link project, a contentious issue between Haryana and Punjab.

Born as Subhdeep Singh Sidhu in Moosa village in Mansa district, the singer studied engineering from Punjab and moved to Canada in 2016. Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead in the Mansa district of the Punjab state in India on Sunday. The 28-year-old singer was driving near his village in Punjab state when he was shot dead by unidentified attackers.
He was traveling in a jeep when assailants opened fire. Two other people were also injured in the attack. Moosewala, and the other injured, were moved to Mansa Hospital where he succumbed to his wounds. Mansa civil surgeon Dr. Ranjeet Rai told the media that Moosewala was brought dead at the civil hospital.
