MANSHERA: The wildlife department has foiled the illegal smuggling of rare cheetah lizards worth Rs 200 million.
According to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Wildlife Department, two suspects involved in smuggling rare lizards have also been arrested.
A spokesman of the forest department said that 15 rare cheetah lizards were recovered from the vehicle during the operation at Mansehra Toll Plaza.
Leopard gecko lizards were being smuggled abroad. During the interrogation, the accused revealed that the lizards were caught in different mountains and forests of Abbottabad and Havelian. A case has been registered against the accused under the Wildlife and Biodiversity Act.
