KARACHI: Inspector General Sindh (IGP) Sindh Mushtaq Ahmad Mahar has been removed from his post.
A notification has been issued asking Mahar to report to Establishment Division. Dr Kamran Fazal, a Grade 21 officer, has been additional charge as new police chief. until further order. Dr Fazal has previously served as AIG Sukkur Region and was currently head of police training.
According to reports, Mushtaq Mahar has been removed on the directives of Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah over the recent terror incidents in the city.
