KARACHI: The favorite administration of the second Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University of Karachi (UoK) Dr. Nasira Khatoon is seems to fail in running the affairs of the varsity while the security officials have started giving the punishment of their incompetence to the students by torturing and manhandling them.

In this situation teachers of the university have warned of a protest and have given a deadline to the administration of Tuesday.

As per details, Director General (DG) Sindh Rangers attended an important meeting of teachers in UoK today, during which main issues such as security and relaxation for Balochistan’s students were discussed.

During the meeting, the administration of the varsity tried to hold the media responsible for ongoing security and other issues.

The meeting urged the media not to bounce on the issues of the university and criticize the administration but rather do positive reporting in the style of international broadcasting organizations.

This week, the security situation in the university got worse after a car, belonging to political party workers, tried to enter the varsity late at night, and on stopped by security personnel, the occupants of the car abused and insulted the security men.

However, the security adviser Dr. Muhammad Zubair did not receive a phone call from the security personnel.

After this incident, the students on Wednesday faced severe difficulties at the gate while entering the varsity. The security personnel tortured the students and a video of it went viral. On this citizens particularly the parents have expressed deep grief and anger.

Meanwhile, the teachers of the University of Karachi have conveyed a message to the administration and have warned a protest outside the administration block on Tuesday against the ongoing worse situation in the university.

“The Vice-Chancellor and the Registrar have been requested in the meeting to bring out all the issues through official correspondence and not to send different messages to different people,” the message read.

“It should be clarified once and for all that which gates students can use for entering in the varsity. What they can bring and what cannot? There is no clear order in this regard which is regrettable’’, the message added. The teachers in their message also condemned the torture of students.

Dr. Intikhab Ulfat, Dr. Riaz Ahmed, Dr. Faizan Naqvi, Dr. Zeeshan Iqbal, Ghofran Alam, Imran Ahmed, and others are among those who have raised their voice for the betterment of the university.
