Will move court to revoke Shehbaz Sharif, Hamza’s bail: Fawad

MM News Staff by MM News Staff
April 1, 2022

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry said he is being given the additional charge of law minister and will move court to revoke the bail of PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shehbaz.

Addressing a press conference, flanked by Energy Minister Hammad Azhar and SAPM Shahbaz Gill, the federal minister said that the dream of the Opposition to oust the prime minister will be shattered.

“Shehbaz Sharif has become a self-appointed prime minister while sitting at home,” he said. “Each minute of the next 48 hours is very important,” he said, adding those who are on bail from courts will not be allowed to become prime minister and chief minister Punjab.

Fawad further added that the government is planning to file a petition to cancel the bail orders of both Shahbaz and Hamza, adding that the opposition is part of the conspiracy against the government.

“We will not let anyone sitting outside the country bring regime change,” he said.  The minister said the government invited Shehbaz Sharif to witness the “threatening letter” but he refused as he was involved in the conspiracy.

He added that they have been tracking interaction of estranged MNAs and legal action would be taken against those who would cross floor in the vote of no-confidence. “We will neither allow anybody to sell Pakistan nor will be bow down before anybody,” he reiterated. R

He urged the Supreme Court of Pakistan to take notice of the plans of foreigners to overthrow the government. Regarding the threat to Prime Minister Imran Khan’s life, Fawad said that “necessary steps have been taken for the security of the premier.”

Will not allow ‘puppet government’

Federal Minister Hammad Azhar said the the masses that PTI will never allow any “puppet government” to be installed in Pakistan.

He said Pakistan was placed on the Financial Action Task Force’s (FATF) grey list due to the PML-N government. “It was the PTI-led government that accepted the challenge and fulfilled most of the conditions set forth by the body for Pakistan to be removed from the grey list,” he said.

He said that it was the PTI government that entered a deal with Qatar to import cheap re-gasified liquefied natural gas (RLNG) for the country. “As opposed to that, the PML-N government had struck expensive LNG deals during its tenure,” Azhar maintained. “This country cannot afford to tolerate these politicians for another period.”

Earlier Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said that Prime Minister Imran Khan’s security has been beefed after the security agencies reported a plot to assassinate the prime minister. Fawad said the government has taken this decision in the light of these reports.
