ISLAMABAD: The government has lost its numerical majority in the National Assembly after the split of the coalition party Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan.
BAP, PML-Q, GDA, BNP Mengal, JWP, MQM, and some independents formed the ruling party PTI which emerged as the largest party in the National Assembly.
According to the announcements of the parties joining the opposition alliance, the current position shows that the opposition alliance now has the support of 176 members in the National Assembly without the angry members of PTI.

The no-confidence motion in the National Assembly requires 172 votes to succeed. Following is the party’s position in the National Assembly now:
Opposition coalition: 176 votes
Muslim League-N: 84
PPP: 56
JUI: 14
MQM: 7
BAP: 4
Others: 11
Government coalition: 164 votes
PTI: 155
Muslim League Q: 4
GDA: 3
BAP: 1
