Prime Minister Imran Khan is likely to address the nation today (Wednesday) as the political temperature rises ahead of the debate on the no-confidence motion. Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid said the prime minister will address the nation later today after an emergency meeting of the federal cabinet.
Earlier today, the premier announced that he will reveal to senior journalists and PTI allies “written evidence” of the letter he has been saying contains evidence of a foreign conspiracy against the government, as he wants to silence his critics who have been calling the letter “a drama”.
Following the announcement, Rashid revealed that Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry has invited 10 journalists today who will be shown the letter. He added that voting on the no-confidence motion will be held on April 3.
The PM invited MQM-P’s Khalid Maqbool and BAP’s Khalid Magsi to attend the meeting. However, Maqbool refused to join the meeting after the party decided to side with the opposition and no contact could be made with Magsi.
Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain on Wednesday said that Prime Minister Imran Khan was a player who would fight till the last ball. In a tweet, he said there was no question of resignation by the Prime Minister and friends and foes would eventually witness the fight.
