ISLAMABAD: Ansar-ul-Islam, a militant wing of the Jamiat Ulema-e-lslam (JUI-F), has decided to set up camp inside the Parliament Lodges ahead of the no-confidence motion.
The opposition has filed a no-confidence motion against the government and a session of the National Assembly is expect to be convened. Meanwhile, Ansar-ul-Islam volunteers reached inside the Parliament Lodges and have decided to provide full security to opposition members.
The wing’s volunteers said that security will be implemented on the instructions of JUI-f chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, saying they are there to protect opposition MNAs ahead of the assembly’s session for the no-confidence motion.
Ansar-ul-Islam volunteers also held a short rehearsal outside Parliament Lodges and decided to set up camp stay there till the no-confidence motion is passed. Islamabad police have summoned a large contingent of security forces to avoid an untoward incident.
Special Assistant to Prime Minister, Dr Shahbaz Gill condemned the act and said that no one will be allowed to take the law into their hands. He said Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed is looking after the situation.
The yellow-dresssed party volunteer gained prominence during JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s sit-in in Islamabad in 2019. The federal government decided to formally place a ban on Ansar-ul-Islam. The government has also decided in principal to prevent the sit-in by the JUI-F in federal capital.
