ISLAMABAD: Pakistan continued to report over three thousand coronavirus cases on Sunday, as the positivity ratio has dropped significantly in the country.
According to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), Pakistan reported 3,206 cases and 41 deaths in the previous 24-hour period. The national tally of coronavirus cases has reached 1,483,798 while the death toll stands at 29,772.
The positivity ratio was has dropped to 5.79% while the number of active cases has also reduced to 79,398. There were 55,304 tests were conducted in the previous day leading to new cases. There are 1,623 people who still remain in critical condition. Overall 1,375,628 people have recovered from the virus, including 4,935 in the past day.
Sindh has recorded the highest number of cases and remains the worst affected region. The province has recorded 557,931 cases and 7,978 deaths while there are 45,299 active cases.
Punjab has recorded 494,971 cases and 13,355 deaths, while the number of active cases in the province has reduced to 11,094. Islamabad has recorded 133,037 cases and 988 deaths while there are 6,618 active cases in the federal capital.
The number of cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa stands at 209,758 and 6,113 deaths, while Balochistan has reported 35,056 cases and 371 deaths. Gilgit Baltistan had recorded 11,183 cases and 189 deaths while Azad Kashmir has recorded 41,862 cases and 768 deaths.
