KARACHI: Despite the shortage of gas, the Sui Southern Gas Company has started rewarding private commercial entities in Karachi.
According to the gas distribution policy, domestic consumers are ranked first, export industry second, local industry third, CNG sector fourth, but the commercial entities including Dolmen Mall are being supplied gas in huge quantity.
According to a copy of the bill available with MM News, the SSC supplied 10,150.755 MMBTU gas to the Dolmen Mall and other private entities, while the domestic consumer kept on waiting for the gas and faced hardships.
Meanwhile, Industrialists and traders across Karachi have issued a 72-hour ultimatum for the federal government to resolve the gas crisis.
The Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s former president, Zubair Motiwala, has blamed the government for the shortage.
“If the government fails to resolve the crisis, traders will launch a protest campaign,” he said. “Even PTI federal ministers have accepted the failure on this platform.”
The forum has announced demonstrations outside the head office of the Sui Sothern Gas Company. It will be attended by all the chambers and trade organizations of the province.
