ISLAMABAD: Local body elections are set to be held in Punjab and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is considering the names of ministers for mayors of different cities who will be fielded as PTI candidates.
According to details, before the Punjab local body elections, PTI is considering various candidates for mayors of other cities, including the names of Zain Qureshi, son of Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, and other relatives of the ministers.
The name of provincial minister Hashim Javan Bakht is under consideration for Rahim Yar Khan. Zain Qureshi may be the candidate for the post of mayor of Multan while consideration is being considered for the post of mayor of Sialkot from Usman Dar or Buzdar family.
The name of Jaffer Khan Buzdar, brother of Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar is under consideration for Dera Ghazi Khan. Member Punjab Committee Sadia Sohail Rana said that names for mayor are being considered in the advisory committee.
PTI candidates will contest the Punjab local body elections to become mayors. In this regard, member committee Sadia Sohail Rana said that final approval of names of local body candidates would be given by Prime Minister Imran Khan.
