LAHORE: Former Chief Justice of Lahore High Court Khawaja Muhammad Sharif has passed away at the age of 73.
Funeral prayers of the deceased will be offered at 11 a.m. at Eid Gah Miani Sahib Cemetery near Chauburji. It may be recalled that Khawaja Muhammad Sharif was reinstated on March 16, 2009, along with the judges who were removed from their posts on November 3, 2007, for not taking oath under PCO after that he was appointed as the Chief Justice of the High Court.
Khawaja Muhammad Sharif, who retired from the post of Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court on December 9, 2010, started his legal career on April 7, 1971, from the office of Khawaja Sultan Ahmed, the Supreme Court of Pakistan and the most senior advocate of the High Court. On May 24, 1973, he entered the Lahore High Court as a lawyer.

Khawaja Muhammad Sharif was twice elected President of the Lahore Bar Association in 1989 and 1991. During his practice, he wrote seven law books, including the Motor Accident Claims, the Press, and Publication Ordinance, the Arbitration Act, Company Law, the West Pakistan Civil Courts Ordinance, and the Law of Tarts.
