KARACHI: The Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL) on Friday announced that gas supply to CNG stations in Sindh and Balochistan will remain closed from Sunday (Nov 7) to Monday (Nov 8).
According to a statement issued in this regard, the SSGCL announced that all CNG stations in Sindh and Balochistan will remain shut from 8am Sunday to 8am Monday. The gas supply company said the suspension was being made to fulfil the requirements of domestic consumers.
However, Sui Gas officials clarified that stations selling RLNG will remain open and RLNG supply will not be impacted by the current gas load management measures.
Last month, the SSGC had suspended the gas supply to CNG stations for 10 days — from 8am October 16 (Saturday) to 8pm October 25 (Monday) in order to maintain gas supply to domestic customers.
Citing reasons behind this apparently unusual step that would likely to cause people’s rush on petrol pumps, the SSGC statement pointed out that the phenomenon of reduced gas supplies was primarily because of supply issues from gas fields owned by exploration and production companies.
