QUETTA: Corps Commander Balochistan has visited the earthquake-affected areas.
According to details, a strong earthquake that struck two days ago in different cities of Balochistan proved to be devastating. Hundreds of people have been displaced by the destruction of homes and forced to live in the open.
The quake, which struck shortly after 3 pm between October 6 and 7, killed 20 people and injured more than 300. Pakistan Army personnel are engaged in rescue activities to help the quake victims.
For the second day in a row, aftershocks of the earthquake spread panic among the citizens. On the direction of the Army Chief, the Pakistan Army delivered relief goods to the quake-hit areas. Medical assistance is also being provided to the victims.
Corps Commander Balochistan Lt. Gen. Sarfraz Ali visited the quake-hit areas and reviewed rescue and relief activities. Food and relief items were also distributed to the quake victims.

It may be recalled that earlier an aviation helicopter of the Pakistan Army shifted about 10 injured people to Quetta for medical treatment. IG, FC reviewed the damage caused by the earthquake in Harnai.
Two days ago, an urban search and rescue team was also dispatched from Rawalpindi to help the quake victims. The quake affected Quetta, Harnai, Pishin, Ziarat, Sibi, Qila Saifullah, Laura Lai, and Muslim Bagh.
