LAHORE: Police have arrested 34 more people in the Minar-e-Pakistan harassment case for allegedly harassing TikToker Ayesha Akram.
According to details, the number of accused in the Ayesha Akram harassment cases has increased to 126 and the police produced the arrested accused in court.
The court granted the remand request of the police. All the accused have been shifted to jail on 14-day remand and an investigation into the harassment case is underway.
It may be recalled that the Minar-e-Pakistan harassment case was complicated by the contradictory statements of the family of Ayesha Akram. The court granted pre-arrest bail to one accused while police also arrested the 71-year-old man, who was later released.

Contradictory statements by the family of Ayesha Akram came to light after the August 14 incident of harassment at Minar-e-Pakistan. Close friends of the harassed woman have disappeared.
Ayesha Akram’s mother refused to speak to the media, saying that her daughter never left the house and went to Minar-e-Pakistan on August 14 on her way back from duty.
Following the August 14 harassment at Minar-e-Pakistan, the court granted bail to one accused and restrained the police from arresting him till September 3. Police also arrested a 71-year-old man on suspicion of assault as part of a mob.
