AJMER: The 811th annual Urs celebrations of Hazrat Moinuddin Chishti, known as Khwaja Ghareeb Nawaz, have been started in the Indian state of Rajasthan.
According to the details, the celebrations of the 811th Urs of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti in Rajasthan began on Monday night after the moon sighting of the Islamic month of Rajab. The Rajab moon was not visible on Sunday. Therefore, the celebrations started on Monday.
The heavenly door of the shrine of Khawaja Gharib Nawaz was also opened. In the evening, the start of Urs celebrations was announced by the bridegrooms, while from 11:00 pm to 4:00 am, recitations of Fatiha, Mehfil-e-Sama, and Ghusl-e-Mazar were organized.
According to Indian media, the series of recitation of Fatiha, Ghusl-e-Mazar, and Mahfil-e-Samaa will be continued every day from 11:00 PM to 4:00 AM in the dargah between the Sufi Kalams until 5th Rajab i.e. 28th February, while the Mahfil-i-Samaa will be held on 6th Rajab, 1st February.
On February 1st, Rismul Qul will start at 5 am and continue till 11 pm. The entire dargah premises will be washed with the sewage water. With the end of the rites, the Urs of Khawaja Gharib Nawaz (may Allah have mercy on him) will also end.
