LOS ANGELES: At least seven people were shot and killed at two separate scenes in Half Moon Bay Monday afternoon, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office. Today’s mass shooting in Half Moon Bay, CA, is the 6th incident with 7+ victim fatalities in less than three weeks, a similar pace to what was seen back in October and November. By contrast, December had none.

The victims are Chinese farmworkers, Half Moon Bay Councilmember Debbie Ruddock said.
Police said suspect was custody after shooting incident with multiple victims in Half Moon Bay, California. San Mateo County Sheriff Christina Corpus said “this kind of shooting is horrific. it’s a tragedy we here too often. But, today’s it hit home in San Mateo County.” He said “a deputy located 67-year-old Chunli Zhao in his vehicle in the parking lot of the Sheriff’s Half Moon Bay Police substation. Deputies found a semi-automatic handgun in the car. It’s believed he acted alone. No more threat to community.”
Four victims were found dead at about 2:22 p.m. along the 12700 block of Cabrillo Highway, the sheriff’s office said. Another victim was transported to Stanford Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
Vice Mayor Joaquin Jimenez says farm workers were present at location of at least one of the shootings.
