PESHAWAR: Sultan Muhammad Khan Golden, who rose to international prominence in-car jumping, has been accused of marrying a 12-year-old girl in Chitral.
The management completed the preliminary inquiry after the matter was raised by a welfare organization in Chitral. According to Deputy Commissioner Chitral, 60-year-old Sultan Golden got married in a village in Chitral.
The school document showed that the girl is 12- year-old, however, the age of the girl for marriage is shown as 18 years wrongfully. Sultan Golden and the girl’s parents committed the crime by making an identity card with a fake certificate.
To determine the exact age of the girl, Deputy Commissioner Chitral recommended the formation of a medical board, while NADRA officials have also been contacted to block the girl’s identity card.

A case has also been recommended under the Child Marriage Act 1929 for marrying a minor girl. According to the deputy commissioner, Sultan has taken the girl with him after taking a stay order from the court against the Golden Medical Board.
This is the third marriage of Sultan Golden and the second in Chitral. Sultan Muhammad Khan Golden set the world record of jumping over 22 cars in 1987 during the national horse and cattle show in Lahore, where he covered 249 feet distance, leaving behind the USA’s ever achieved Koddosely who had covered 246 feet while jumping over cars.
