Six alleged TTP terrorists were killed in Dadowala area of Lakki Marwat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) during an operation, counter-terrorism department (CTD) officials said on Thursday.
In a statement issued Thursday, Lakki Marwat police spokesperson Shahid Hameed said that the operation was conducted in the jurisdiction of the Dadiwala police station after security personnel got a tip-off that terrorists were planning an attack on the Abbas police check-post.
āWhen the security teams reached the terroristsā hideout, they opened fire at police officials from multiple directions. The police retaliated as well,ā he said.
According to the CTD, ammunition and explosives were recovered from the slain terrorists who were involved in the terror attacks and assaults on security forces.
Four of the slain terrorists have been identified as Ziaullah, Safatullah, Mohibullah and Kaleemullah. The identification of two others was underway, the official said.
He added that the terrorists had been declared wanted by the Lakki Marwat police and the CTD for their involvement in attacks on the police.
Terrorism is emerging again as attacks across Pakistan have increased lately since the end of the ceasefire with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) last year.
