LAHORE: A leather warehouse in Lahore’s Mochi Gate area caught fire late Wednesday night killing at least least four people while nineteen others suffered burnt injuries.
Teams of the fire brigade and rescue reached the spot and controlled the fire Rescue teams transferred the dead bodies and injured to Mayo Hospital, Lahore.

Rescue sources have confirmed that the fire was caused by a short circuit, the rescue sources said, the victims were living on the warehouse’s upper floor.
The Rescue sources further said the deceased were identified as Khuda Yaar, Abdul Wadood, Abdul Malik and Feroze while Zia, Sher Wali, Aziz, Walid, Abdul Razzaq, Rehmat, Habib Ullah, Abdul Khaliq, Aziz Khan, and Kashif were injured.
Earlier on December 16, a fire broke out at a hotel situated at the Karachi fish harbour during the wee hours.
The blaze that engulfed the berth no. 5 at the harbour set fire to at least nine yachts worth millions of rupees. The fire spread very quickly due to high winds.
According to the fire brigade spokesperson, the cause of the fire spreading very rapidly was due to high winds.
