LAHORE: Today marks the second death anniversary of renowned lawyer and human rights activist Asma Jahangir who also worked for human rights internationally.
Asma Jahangir, a human rights activist died two years ago from heart disease and is remembered for her efforts to uphold the rule of law and the stability of democracy in the country.
Asma Jahangir was born in Lahore on January 27, 1952, and later she studied at the Convent of Jesus and Mary school. In 1978, Asma Jahangir acquired an LLB degree, and founded Advocacy and Human Rights Commission of Pakistan and started the struggle for human rights for people.
