ISLAMABAD: As many as 29 cases have so far been registered against the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan across the federal capital territory of Islamabad. This has been revealed in a detailed report submitted in Islamabad High Court on the orders of Chief Justice Aamer Farooq.
On Monday, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) had ordered to provide detail of cases registered against PTI Chairman Imran Khan across the federal capital territory by Tuesday (today).
The order was passed by Chief Justice Aamer Farooq on a petition in which Khan made a request to provide the details of the cases registered against him.

The report showed that the former premier was booked in 15 cases in single day on May 26 following his party’s long march against the coalition government. The cases registered at the Tarnol police station have been disposed off while Mr Khan’s trial in other cases is pending in courts.
According to detailed report submitted in the IHC on Tuesday, copies of which are available with MM News, the State Council said 28 cases registered against Imran Khan by Islamabad Police, while one was registered by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
It further stated that one case against Khan had already been dismissed while the status of seven cases was ‘under investigation’. Besides that, 20 cases were pending in trial courts and one case, registered against FIA Foreign Exchange Act, was pending in Banking Court.

During the course of IHC proceedings today, Khan’s lawyer Faisal Chaudhry said “we had been directed to join investigation but here in Islamabad, no one is picking up the phone.”
On this occasion, Chief Justice Aamer Farooq directed the Islamabad Police to remain in contact with Advocate Faisal Chaudhry, and disposed off the petition.
