DELHI: Two fighters jets of Indian Air Force, Sukhoi-30 and Mirage 2000 are reported to have crashed near Morena, Madhya Pradesh, killing one pilot on the spot. Search and rescue operations have been launched.

Indian media quoted defense sources as saying that the two aircraft had taken off from the Gwalior air base in Madhya Pradesh where an exercise was going on.

Indian media quoted Defense sources saying that the two Pilots flying the Sukhoi were safe, however, one of them sustained fatal founds.
A statement issued hours later by Indian Air Force says “Two fighter aircraft of IAF were involved in an accident near Gwalior today morning. The aircraft were on routine operational flying training mission. One of the three pilots involved, sustained fatal injuries. An inquiry has been ordered to determine the cause of the accident.:
