KARACHI: Director Colleges Hyderabad Prof. Dr. Abdul Hameed Channar in a letter addressed to the principal of Government Boys Degree College Matiari has revealed that 10 lecturers and 7 assistant professors of grade 18 are constantly absent from the college, a report has been sought from the secretariat in this regard.
Biometric machines worth Rs. 70,000 have been re-installed in colleges across Sindh after 4 years. The orders were directly passed by junior officers of the director-general colleges. It can be seen directly in the Sindh Secretariat in which tampering of any kind cannot be done from the college.
On 15th February, letter No. SO (AD-II) CED-Biometric / 03/2022 was written to the Director Colleges Hyderabad Prof. Dr. Abdul Hameed Channar by the Section Officer A&D II of College Education Department Sindh in which he was told about the biometric attendance and reasons behind the continuous absence of 17 teachers of Government Boys Degree College, Matiari.
After which a letter-number DCEHRE / IT / 2021-22 / 425 was written by the Director Colleges Hyderabad Prof. Dr. Abdul Hameed Channar on 15th February in which the principal of Government Boys Degree College Matiari has been ordered that 17 teachers of your college are continuously absent. Inquire in this regard and submit a report within 3 days.
According to the list received, among the 10 lecturers of grade 17, Munir Hussain, Sikandar, Kamran Ali, Aziz-ur-Rehman, Kehar Khan, Asadullah Abro, Shahid Umar, Farhan Nisar Awan, Asif Muhammad Khan and Farman Ali besides Muhammad Abdullah Haleem among the assistant professors of grade 18 , Ejaz Ali, Masroor Ahmed, Mohammad Naeem, Madad Ali, Mohammad Ahmed Masroor and Adnan Ahmed are continuously absent, whose record does not include any CL.

According to records, Government Boys Degree College Matiari has a total of 25 teachers and 9 non-teaching staff including Principal Syed Badrul Zaman Shah, including Grade 19 Associate Professors, Grade 18 Assistant Professors and Grade 17 Lecturers besides Librarian, Assistant, Clerk, Junior Clerk and others. The absence of 17 teachers in one day is a matter of great concern to the students.
It should be noted that in any college there is a fixed formula for leave of teachers according to which teachers get leaves. However, in case of any emergency, the college is informed while in case of early leave 17 teachers get leave at once By no means.
