KARACHI: Seventeen new cases coronavirus of local transmission has been confirmed in Karachi today (Saturday), bringing the city’s tally to 183.
According to Sindh health department, Karachi has reported 181 cases, in which 131 cases are of local transmission.
Sindh health department further reported that 14 patients have been recovered from disease in Sindh in which 13 were from Karachi. So far, one person from Karachi lost the battle to the virus.
Meanwhile, three doctors working at Aga Khan Hospital and one at Liaquat National Hospital were tested positive for coronavirus in Karachi.
According to details, three employees, including a surgeon and a radiologist, were infected by the coronavirus, after which all the patients had been banned from working at the hospital.
The source from the Liaquat National Hospital said one of its doctors from the Radiology Department was tested positive.
Coronavirus has claimed lives of almost 11 people in the country and has affected more than 1400 people. Punjab has overtaken Sindh in rising number of coronavirus cases.
